Insight Dyslexia Services

At Insight Dyslexia, I combine over two decades of English teaching and literacy expertise with specialist training in dyslexia assessment and support. I am a qualified dyslexia teacher and certified assessor, committed to providing evidence-based diagnostic evaluations and tailored interventions for individuals. With a focus on building confidence and independence in learners, my goal is to ensure that every dyslexic student develops the understanding and the tools they need to thrive.

How do assessments work?

A diagnostic assessment is a series of tests conducted by me one-to-one with your child. The process begins with a conversation: I listen to concerns and advise whether or not an assessment is recommended. If it is, then we gather details about family history, relevant medical and developmental history and educational background. There are questionnaires to complete. An eye examination and a hearing test may need to be completed before the assessment. This can take some time. We would aim to schedule an assessment date within 3-4 weeks.
After the assessment is complete, I will write a diagnostic report which will include background information, standardised scores, the interpretation of these scores and my recommendations. Within 3 weeks, I will contact you to provide the report and schedule a 20–30-minute call to explain the results.
